A Painful Goodbye

The Story that inspired a revolution in wound care: Lorraine was a dedicated wound care specialist who spent over three decades serving her community with compassion and expertise. After retiring, she was diagnosed with cancer and began treatment, which included Oxycodone for pain relief from bed sores. Unfortunately, the traditional wound care methods used at the time only exacerbated her condition.

The pain from dressing changes became so unbearable that Lorraine eventually refused the dressings altogether. As a result, she became vulnerable to infections and contracted two staph infections, which ultimately contributed to her passing. The medical staff confirmed that they had exhausted all available options to make the process less painful, but the limitations of existing wound care methods left them powerless.
